Professional Challenges in Medical Imaging for Providing Safe Medical Service

This study explores the organization of medical physicists’, radiologists’, and radiographers’ professional work challenges they encounter ensuring quality safe service within imaging. A practice theory perspective was used for data collection, which consisted 14 open interviews, analysis. The concept tension interpretation findings. Three tensions are presented in findings: 1) between diverse general practical understandings about activities practice; 2) material-economic conditions activity practice, 3) discursive-culture practice. found that new technology, economical rationality, organisation processes lead to fewer face-to-face meetings different professions. Therefore, imaging as dispersed practices misses opportunities learning across practices, can patient safety risks. To ensure safety, forms needed.
